The Challenge

Beestro Café on Church Road in Urmston had a full-width glazed frontage — great for natural light, but a problem for the business. Every table was fully visible from the street. Customers felt exposed, particularly those sitting near the window. There was no sense of enclosure or comfort, and the exterior of the unit did nothing to reinforce the brand.

The brief was to add privacy without closing the space off. Any solution needed to retain natural light, create a more comfortable environment for diners, and use the window as a branding opportunity rather than just treating it as glass to be obscured.

The Solution

We supplied and installed a frosted privacy vinyl to the lower section of the window — covering the area that put seated customers in full view of the street, while leaving the upper portion clear to maintain light and an open feel from inside.

Rather than a plain frost, the design integrated the Beestro MCR brand directly into the vinyl. The logo was applied as a cut-out circle within the frosted panel, and the word CAFÉ was set in large cut-out lettering across the glass. The cut-outs allow the interior light to show through, creating a layered effect that looks sharp from the street — especially in the evening when the interior is lit.

The result is privacy vinyl that actively works as signage. Passers-by see clear branding and a professional, considered frontage. Customers inside get comfort and enclosure without losing the connection to the street or natural light.

The Result

A comfortable, branded environment. Diners near the window no longer feel on show, the café's identity is visible from the street, and the frontage now reads as a finished, professional business rather than an unmarked glass unit. The cut-out lettering and logo give the window real presence — particularly after dark when the interior lighting shows through the design.

Common Questions

What is window frosting and how does it work?

Window frosting is a self-adhesive vinyl film applied directly to glass. It diffuses light so you can't see through clearly, giving privacy without blocking daylight. It can be cut to any shape or pattern and combined with branding elements like logos and lettering.

Can you add logos and lettering to frosted window vinyl?

Yes. Cut-out lettering and logos can be integrated directly into the frosted panel. The cut-outs remain clear, allowing light through and creating a contrast effect against the frosted background — like the Beestro Café installation.

Do you install window frosting for cafés and hospitality businesses?

Yes, hospitality is one of the most common applications — cafés, restaurants, and bars all benefit from balancing privacy with light and branding. We work across Urmston, Trafford, Greater Manchester, and the wider North West.

How long does window frosting last?

Quality window vinyl typically lasts 5–7 years on external glass with no issues. It can be removed and replaced if branding changes, and won't damage the glass beneath.

Digi Print supplies and installs window frosting, privacy vinyl, café window branding, and window graphics across Urmston, Trafford, Manchester, Greater Manchester, and the North West.
